September 29, 2014 — The sale of Ted Linhart’s Dominion Chevrolet Buick GMC in Short Pump, VA to the Hendrick Automotive Group will be finalized Tuesday September 30. TBR has reported on this pending acquisition a couple of times since it was announced in July.
The Linhart family has been selling cars since 1955 and at one time, included nine franchises at three separate locations. I interviewed Linhart several years ago while an associate at Ward’s Dealer Business. At the time, Linhart was implementing what at the time were unique CRM processes.
Dominion will become NASCAR legend Rick Hendrick’s 93rd dealership and will be named Rick Hendrick Chevrolet Buick GMC Richmond. Hendrick has one of the largest dealer groups in the country generating more than $7 billion in revenue. The group has stores in 13 states.
