New Event for Automotive Investors & Entrepreneurs

New Event for Automotive Investors & Entrepreneurs

August 2, 2015 — Looking for the next big idea in automotive retail? Or do you want to get your idea in front of potential investors? AutoVentures, a new and unique conference launching in October, seeks to bring entrepreneurs, investors and dealers together for an automotive “Shark Tank” experience. It’s a concept that’s a first of its kind in the automotive space.

One of the best kept secrets in American business is the opportunity that exists for investors in start ups in the automotive retail space.

It’s a laboratory for new ideas and solutions and has fostered an environment over the last 15 to 20 years in which entrepreneurs with an idea and a little bit of capital have built companies that have netted investors anywhere from $5 million to $4 billion.

But from an investment perspective, predictive and relevant analysis with an insider’s perspective of what’s happening in automotive retail was an area that was lacking — which is why I started The Banks Report two years ago.

Others have started to see the same need.

Venture capital firm Fraser McCombs Capital has partnered with DrivingSales to launch a new conference this fall directed toward investors, automotive entrepreneurs and dealer principals.

AutoVentures-Logo-650The conference, dubbed AutoVentures, is the first of its kind in the automotive retail space. It’s bringing entrepreneurs, investors and dealers together for a half day Sunday October 18 in Las Vegas at the Bellagio Hotel (the DrivingSales Executive Summit begins that afternoon).

It’s going to be sort of a “Shark Tank” for automotive entrepreneurs. Twenty new businesses will present their concepts/and or products to dealer attendees in the audience who then will vote on what they believe to be the most viable ideas are.

As part of the event, entrepreneurs will be able to schedule one-on-one meetings throughout the day with potential investors — these are investors who are accredited and allowed by the SEC to make investments for as low as $25,000 in early-stage companies.

Also, MicroVentures will be on hand to administer an angel fund portfolio investors can participate in as well as enable investors to build their own portfolio with investments in any of the 20 or more companies participating in the program.

Meanwhile, I will be moderating a panel of investors focusing on what they look for in start up companies.

For entrepreneurs wanting to get in on the action, click HERE, scroll down to the bottom of the page and complete the “Contact Us” form. Your information will be forwarded to the folks at Fraser McCombs Capital who are selecting the presenting companies.

Even if your company is not selected to present to the conference audience, you will have an opportunity to set up one-on-one meetings with investors that day.
