Sheldon Sandler

Sheldon Sandler founded Bel Air Partners in response to the need of the dealership community for sophisticated financial services tailored for the retail automotive industry. Mr. Sandler is a leading authority on the role of financial markets in automobile distribution, dealership valuations and automobile dealership consolidation.

As senior managing director of Bel Air Partners, Mr. Sandler leads a group of talented and experienced financial experts. In the past several years, Bel Air has acted as exclusive representatives to numerous private auto dealers in the sale of their automotive assets. Transactions have ranged from $20 million to an excess of $100 million. Bel Air accepts assignments from all parts of the country.

Mr. Sandler is widely quoted in publications such as the Wall Street Journal, Automotive News, Fortune, Business Week, USA Today, Car Dealer Insider, and the London Daily Telegraph and has been a featured speaker at the World Automotive Congress and the J.D. Power Roundtable.

Before founding Bel Air in 1998, Mr. Sandler spent eight years as managing director with the NYSE member firm Ladenburg Thalmann where he successfully completed over a dozen IPOs and numerous private placements, including the IPO for Rush Enterprises, the first franchised vehicle dealer to go public and one of the country’s largest heavy truck dealers.

Previously Mr. Sandler served eleven years with the Securities and Exchange Commission, rising to chief examiner of the Philadelphia branch office. He is a CPA, with a BS from Penn State and an MBA from Temple University. He has served on the Board of Directors of two public companies, M.H. Myerson and Helpmate Robotics.
